CONFETTI TOP TIPS!
It’s no secret that every couple wants an epic confetti photo on their wedding day. It’s the ultimate celebratory shot which oozes pure joy! As a photographer and having captured many confetti moments, I have discovered what works well and what doesn’t in achieving that dreamy confetti shot. Take a read below…
BIODEGRADABLE PAPER CONFETTI
If you can, try to opt for biodegradable paper confetti, it’s the best for photos as it stays afloat in the air for longer and will also sweep back up with a little gust of wind making it look pretty epic for photos and video. Most venues will state you can only use dried petal confetti but it’s worth asking if they will allow biodegradable paper so long as they have no animals or live stock on site.
large dried petals
If you have to use real petal confetti, try to get the larger petals as they show up better in photos. However, I understand how expensive this can be so bulk it out with the finer stuff too so you have plenty of confetti. Not sure on a colour? White is always a great option for a timeless and elegant confetti shot.
bung it in a basket!
Forget the little paper or plastic packets, not only will it save on waste but also save you time. The little packets may look cute but you can never really fit much in them. By having the confetti bunged into one or two baskets, your guests can then grab a good handful. It also stops your guests (nans) tipping the confetti on your head and instead encouraging them to throw it into the air which makes a much better photo.
enjoy it!
Don’t forget that what makes a great confetti photo is YOU! Make sure you take your time, smile, look around and enjoy the celebration. Go hard or go home is my motto! If you are doing a confetti tunnel, don’t walk too quickly because not only do you want to take in the moment, it means your photographer and videographer can capture more content for you.
BOUQUETS DOWN, HEADS HIGH!
I get having things thrown at you, you naturally want to look down, close eyes and hide behind that big bouquet but try to resist! By keeping heads high we get to see your happy faces!
Finish with a kiss.
It’s your time to be cute so finish the moment with a kiss for the camera. Your guests will also love it!
