VILLA PETROLO, TUSCANY - ALICE & NEIL’S ITALY WEDDING.
Where to start.. Photographing Alice & Neil’s wedding in Tuscany felt like fate. Not only did we have mutual contacts from school but when I got the date through for the wedding, I was already planning to be in Italy celebrating my 30th birthday. It seemed it was just meant to be after all!
Arriving in Tuscany, I visited Alice and Neil at Villa Petrolo for a venue recce and to join them as they welcomed friends and family to the start of their celebrations. I quickly took them for a stroll and catch up and we decided to take a few snaps around the grounds which I guess you could call a warm up for the big day!
THE WEDDING DAY
Alice’s bridal prep was located opposite the main venue at a little hillside villa. This came with amazing views of the Petrolo estate. This view was the selling point for Alice and Neil so they decided to include an Illustration of the venue on their wedding stationary created by the talented Lucy says I do.
Neil’s tuxedo was perfection for this venue. It was a great balance between being sophisticated for the big day but with a hint of relaxed summer vibes whilst opting for lighter trousers and less formal shoes. The green of the jacket matched perfectly with the shutters of the venue which you’ll see further down.
The ceremony took place outside the front of the main villa. Slightly shaded under a tree which was welcomed as temperatures hit above 30c. Neil and Alice were joined by their closest family and friends which felt very intimate and personal. The atmosphere was super relaxed and everyone was so welcoming and kind to us through out the three day celebration.
After the ceremony, everyone headed to the back of the villa for the drinks reception where plenty of Aperol spritz was served and the most delicious Antipasti, overlooking the view of the Tuscan countryside and the estates olive groves and vineyards.
Before and on the day planning was provided by Erica Bellini at Tuscan Dreams. From organising and coordinating of the day, such as flowers, catering, entertainment and the gorgeous Al fresco dining set up.
As it entered golden hour I just had to take Alice and Neil for a stroll down the estate where we eventually ended up at the most beautiful vineyard with the most gorgeous views AND the most perfect golden hour, I just couldn’t believe my luck!
The next day I went back to hang with the gang before making my way to Florence. In chilled spirits and with slightly sore heads, everyone gathered for a pool party to continue celebrations. Alice and Neil arranged a saxophonist for some light music entertainment and tonnes of pizza and Italian snacks. Followed by the cutest little Gelato truck which lets be honest, NEEDS to be done if you’re hosting an Italian wedding right?!
Thank you Alice and Neil for making my first Tuscan wedding dreams come true!
